In the month of May I have artwork in two different art shows! One is at Boomerang, in downtown Vancouver. There are two other artists in this show, that opened on May 6. Erika Bartlett has a collection of digital images placed on acrylic plastic-- they are very nice abstract artworks. And Hilarie Couture, a portrait painter, has a series of portraits called "Founding Mothers, Portraits of Progress"-- these are all paintings of Vancouver women-- some historic from long ago, and some of present day women who are leaders in the community. These portraits are exceptional; they are full of life and vitality, as well as using some creative painting techniques. My own artworks are in Boomerang's children's area, near the back of the store. There are some framed prints, matted prints, and also an assortment of cards. This show will be up for most of May. Here is a picture of the postcard: The other show is at Clark College, in the Archer Gallery; it is a show of student work; the "Art Student Annual." There is a variety of art forms represented-- sculpture, ceramics, painting, drawing, printmaking, and filmmaking. There is an awesome metal sculpture dragon! And many other interesting works. The piece I have in this show is "Music Whirled" (see picture below). It was made with mixed media -- ink, pencil, paint, color pencil, and digital art. The Archer Gallery show continues through June 10.
